Tattoo Aftercare Instructions

Leave your wrap on for 3-5 Days
- no leaks or problems? you can leave it on for the full 5 days.
REMOVE YOUR WRAP EARLY IF THE FOLLOWING OCCURS:
you have a lot of irritation
-an allergy forms
-it is leaking
-water ge-ts inside the wrap
-any of the wrap is open or the tattoo is exposed

How to remove your wrap:
-Slowly peel down and away from your tattoo.-Be careful not to do this too quickly or rough, as it can damage your tattoo and cause ink to fall out. Utilize soap to ease the wrap off of your tattoo if needed.

Once your wrap has been removed, wash your tattoo with clean hands:
-Use warm NOT HOT water, and antibacterial unscented soap to cleanse your tattoo thoroughly (No loofahs or washcloths, just your clean hands).-Make sure to wash off any excess plasma, ink, or debris that might be on your tattoo.
-Once clean, pat the area dry with a paper towel.
-Once it is dry you can apply a VERY THIN layer of Aquaphor. After 3-4 days of this you can use unscented lotion instead of aquaphor. -
WASH
- Wash your hands thouroughly before touching your tattoo.
-Clean your new tattoo thoroughly with unscented, antibacterial soap and warm (NOT HOT) water.-Be sure to wash off any buildup of blood/plasma/ink etc from your tattoo.
*Never use wash cloths, loffahs, or body wash on your fresh tattooDRY
-Pat it dry with a clean paper towel.
*No wash cloths or bath towels, these harbor bacteria.
MOISTURIZE
-Apply a thin layer of ointment/lotion just enough to moisturize it.-If you put too much, blot off the excess with a clean paper towel. Excess buildup of ointment or lotion can lead to tattoo bubbling and clogged pores that look like a break out.
*No Neosporin or Vaseline
REPEAT
-Repeat this process 3x per day: Morning, Midday, Night
Your tattoo will be fully healed when it is no longer peeling or shiny, and the texture feels the same as your other skin. -
Soaps:
Dial Gold, Hibiclens, Mad Rabbit Tattoo Wash
Ointments:
Aquaphor, Mad Rabbit Soothing Gel, Mad Rabbit Tattoo Balm
Extra bandages:
Saniderm, Recovery Derm Sheild, Teggaderm -
Don’ts:
-Swimming
-Soaking your tattoo
-Tanning
-Picking at your tattoo
-Itching
-Loofahs, washcloths, bathtowels, or body wash on your new tattoo
-Neosporin, antibiotics, steroids
Do’s
-Showers are okay, just no soaking in the bathtub
-Keep your tattoo clean and moisturized.
-Stay Hydrated- this helps your body to heal better
-Be easy on your new tattoo, it is a wound.
